KES2010 was an international scientific forum for the presentation of the results of high-quality research on a broad range of intelligent systems topics, organised by the School of Engineering at Cardiff University, in conjunction with KES International.The conference took place in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Cardiff is well established as ‘Europe’s Youngest Capital’ but its history dates back more than 2000 years to the Romans. It was once one of the busiest ports in the world, exporting the coal which fuelled the industrial revolution.

The conference consisted of keynote talks, oral and poster presentations, invited sessions and workshops, on the applications and theory of intelligent systems and related areas. It provided excellent opportunities for the presentation of interesting new research results and discussion about them, leading to knowledge transfer and generation of new ideas.
